Thoughts on Bridgerton Season 3 trailer

New trailer for Netflix Bridgerton season 3

On April 11th, 2024, Netflix released its first trailer for the new season of Bridgerton.

To say I was excited, would be an understatement.

If you haven’t seen it already you can check it out here.

All this excitement from the trailer shows that we do not know what to expect, but the crumbs they give us, leave us wanting more.

Off the rails from the novel series

If you both read the books and watched the TV show, you would know that the Netflix series has gone rogue with the original Bridgerton storyline. I personally like the show better and I will tell you the reasons why.

We see new characters. We see more depth in the original characters. More events take place. We have a diverse cast creating an alternate historical fiction, changing history with a butterfly effect event that we saw in Queen Charlotte. Each Bridgerton season and spin-off keeps getting better and better than the last.

I do still enjoy the books themselves and with this season there is a focus on Penelope and Colin. You can read my review on the Bridgerton fourth book here to help you hold yourself over until the air date. I also like that we get two different variations of Bridgerton. One with Netflix and the original novels by Julia Quinn. It gives me more stories to digest. Kind of like different universes that Hollywood loves to play with now.

Here are the major things I noticed in the trailer that piqued my curiosity for the new season.

A new suitor?

We are introduced to a new character Lord Debling who seems to be Penelope’s preferred suitor. At least that is what is implied and perceived. I was immediately charmed by the man. Also, he and Penelope look so good together. But what about Colin? This is going to be in for a messy season, love triangles perhaps?

Francesca’s love story?

We finally will see more of Francesca! I will be honest, the three youngest Bridgerton siblings I did not care about. I really was only invested with the first five siblings. But now Francesca is out in society and is shown to play a bit more of a role. But how much? Will we start to see her love story blossom, or will she struggle with her first season?

Eloise friends with Cressida?

I guess Eloise and Penelope do not makeup. I hope they do, because Eloise teaming up with Cressida… doesn’t look good to me Miss Eloise.

Penelope and Francesca?

We start to see a friendship, an alliance, or some sort of engagement with Penelope and Francesca. Are they both helping each other get through the season? Is a friendship developing in the works?

Previous teasers

Before this trailer was released, I saw on @bridgertonnetflix account on Instagram some other teasers posted prior.

Kate and Anthony

I saw a good amount of Kate and Anthony posted. Looking at them happy and in love. Gross. Just kidding. I was so in love with their season and I love their characters so much. But we need romance drama!

Lord Debling?

Before the trailer release, they made no effort to “soft-launch” Lord Debling. Their “hard-launch” of this man caused a stir.

But I cannot help but notice one of the pictures, Lord Debling is wearing a ring. What does this mean? Lord Debling has some secrets?

Final thoughts

All I can do is just repeat myself at this point. I can’t wait for the new season. Part 1 is scheduled to be released on May 13th and part 2 on June 13th.
